THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE
BRITISH SHOW PONY SOCIETY AND AREA2A
Founded in October 1949 the British Show Pony Society is a family orientated society which aims to improve the showing of The Children's Riding Pony, by promoting classes and competitions for the Children's Show Ponies; Show Hunter Ponies, Working Hunter Ponies, Heritage and Chaps.
• What area does 2A area cover
Area 2A covers, Cheshire, North Staffordshire and Greater Manchester. It is up to individual members to choose which area they wish to be in, but as a rule they are included in the area closest to their address
• Area Shows
Area 2A holds generally 3 shows a year, a winter show for both flat and worker classes, a premier spring show, the prestige show of the season with numerous RIHS qualifiers and finally a summer show for your summer qualifying.
• Area 2A Points Competition
During the summer season all riding members can gain points at shows affiliated to
the BSPS.. These points are then forwarded to your points secretary by the end of
September where trophies and fabulous rosettes are awarded at the annual price-
The BSPS is unique within the showing world in that the country is divided into 25 areas, these areas are all limited companies with their own board of directors.
